The Cardinals ended their season with there Annual Banquet. The Wrestling team hosted the Sandy Run Middle School Wrestlers and enjoyed good food and sharing time together. We would like to Thank Mrs. Bonczkiewicz and Rock for give us a great banquet and all their help during the season. Special Thanks to Eric Griener and Katie Bartosik for all they do for us during the Year. After a good dinner Coach Jones did his annual Introduction of each wrestler and gave out a pile of awards. Mason Novak will continue his season with his third place finish at the Central District in Quakertown. Aidan Reed and Alex Bonczkiwwicz where not a lucky as the dropped their first matches and were eliminated. Mason got caught and pinned in his first match but then won three straight to take 3rd place.
The top 4 place winners at Central Districts will advance to the District One AAA Southeast Regionals hosted by Souderton on Friday March 3 and Saturday March 4.
The top 5 place winners at Regionals will move on to the PIAA AAA State Championship starting on Thursday March 9 with the action getting under way at 4:00 PM and the Giant Center in Hershey.

The Cardinals advanced three wrestlers to the Central District Tournament be held this Saturday at Quakertown. Leading the way was Mason Novak who picked up his second league championship. Joining him will be Aidan Reed (106) 4th place and Alex Bonczkiewicz (126) who placed 3rd.
The Cardinals wrapped up their regular season with a second place finish at the Upper Moreland Invitational held on Saturday Feb 11. All the Cardinal wrestlers placed in the tournament with Mason Novak capturing Gold at 160. Also placing for the team were Elijah Peck (106) 3rd, Aiden Reed (113) 4th, Brian Concannon (120) 2nd, Alex Bonczkiewicz (126) 3rd, John Palmer (126) 5th, Jckson Rock (132) 5th, Jeff Hirsch (145) 4th, Luis Lozada (152) 2nd, Matt Carpenter (6th), EJ Livrieri (182) 3rd and Rocco DeSimone (195) 2nd. In the Junior Varsity Division 4 Cardinals placed John Dierkes (120) 2nd, Andy Yoon (132) 1st, Albert John (138) 2nd and Rory Smith (145) 2nd.
COACH JONES get his 200 Career Coaching win at UD as the Cardinals wrapped up the regular season with a 42-39 victory over Cheltenham.
Leading the Cardinals with fall were Elijah Peck (106), Alex Bonczkiewicz (126), Jackson Rock (132), Mason Novak (160) to improve his record to 23-3 and Rocco DeSimone (220).
The Cardinals helped Hatboro-Horsham celebrate Senior night on Wednesday 2/1 but the Hatters came away with the 45-22 win. The feature match of the night was at 160 with Mason Novak (UD) winning a 6-0 match over Davis Wheeler. Also picking up wins for the Cardinals were Elijah Peck (106) with a fall, John Palmer (126) with a fall, Alex Bonczkiewicz (132) by decision and EJ Livrieri (170) with a Major.
Seniors and Escorts
The Cardinals celebrated Senior Night with a 42-27 victory over Springfield Township. Six Senior were honored in a pre-match ceromony the honorees were Alex Bonczkiewicz (126) escorted by his parents Rob and Janet, Alyssa Caimi (Manager) who could not be there due to an illness, Jeff Hirsch (145-152) escorted by Joanne and Michael, Albert John (138) escorted by his parents Michael and Lynne, Edward Livrieri (170) escorted by our managers Sydney Lemming and Danielle Wrigley and Luis Lozada (152) escorted by his parents Alberto and Inez and his brother James. Katie Bartosik (UD Training) sang the National Anthem. Coach Jones picked up his 199 Career Win.

On Saturday Jan 21 the Upper Dublin Cardinals will hosted 1st Annual Cardinal Middle School duals. Bensalem won the Championship going 5-0 on the day. Keith Valley was the runner up with a 4-1 record. Sandy Run was 1-4 on the day giving up a lot of forfeits each match.
Wednesday Jan 18 Plymouth Whitemarsh visted UD and beat up the Cardinals and won 46-24
Wednesday Jan 11 saw the young Cardinals travel to Wissahicon for an SOL American League Match and the Fireside Cup and we beaten by a good Wissahickon Team 52-12. Picking up wins for the Cardinals were Elijah Pech (106) with a Fall , Luis Lozada (152) and Mason Novak (160) both with decisions. Mason Novak is now 20-2 on the season and currently ranked 4 in the Regional. The Cardinal are back in action on Jan 18 when the host Plymouth-Whitemarsh.
On Saturday Jan 7 the Cardinals traveled to the Academy of the New Church to be part of the Lion Duals. UD finished 3-2 on the day and took 2nd place. The Cradinals beat ANC (45-29) and Cheltenham (39-36) before losing to Penn Charter (36-32). UD won it pool and in the placement rounds they beat Abington (34-30) before losing in the Championship Finals 66-15 to Northeast HS. Leading the Cardinals were Mason Novak (160) 5-0 and Rocco DeSimone (195) 4-1.
TheCardinals kickedoff 2017 with a 69-7 loss at Quakertown scoring points for Cradinals were Alex Boncziewicz (126) with a decision and Mason Novak with major at 160.
The Cardinals wrapped up the holiday season at the Ralph Wetzel tournament. Mason Novak (160) finished in 4th place to be the only UD wrestler to place. The Cardinals also took part in the Delco Duals and when 1 and 4 on the day. Mason Novak was 5-0 on the day.
The Cardinals hosted the Upper Moreland Golden Bears on Wednesday Dec 21 and lost to the Vistors 54-24. Mason Novak and Rocco DeSimone picked up falls for UD.
The Team is back in action on Wednesday Dec 28 at the Delco Duals and gets no rest as they take part in the Ralph Wetzel Holiday Tournament being held at Hatboro-Horsham High School on Thursday Dec 29 and Friday Dec 30. Action gets under way on Thursday at 11:30 AM and will continue all day. Friday's start is 9:30 with the finals projected to be around 6:00 PM. The road for the Cardinals doesn't get any easier as the go to Quakertown on Wednesday Jan. 4 in there second league match of the year.
The Cardinals opened the dual meet season on Wednesday Dec. 14 with a 54 to 17 win over Upper Merion in a non-league contest. Feature match of the night was at 160 with Mason Novak going aginst Anthony Yacovetti with Mason picking up the 4-1 win.
The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday Dec. 21 when they host Upper Moreland Golden Bears in their first league match of the year.
The Cardinals will have a busy holiday season and will be in the Delco Duals on Dec. 28 before heading to the Ralph Wetzel Classic on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30.
The UD Cardinals opened the season this past weekend at the New Hope Solebury Tournament. Mason Novak (160) led the way winning his second championship in a row. Luis Lozada (170) finished in 4th place.
